Happy new year, teachers and students! Below is a quick overview of this year's contest rules and deadlines.

All posters submitted by students of City of Boston schools will be automatically entered in the Boston Water And Sewer Commission's 2nd Chance Poster Contest.

Poster Contest Topic
For the poster contest, students are being asked to create a poster showing someone (or a group of people) doing their jobs in the water or wastewater field. Posters will be judged in three grade level categories: K-2, 3-5 and 6-8.

Writing Contest Topic
For the writing contest, students are being asked to:

Contest Deadline
Entries must be postmarked by Friday, March 12, 2010. Early entries are encouraged.

Required Forms and Labels
Every group of student entries must have a Contest Registration Form and each entry must have a Student Label attached securely to the back of the entry. These are included in this packet and can also be downloaded from the MWRA’s website.

Available Prizes
The first place winner in each category will receive a $100.00 gift card. 2nd place a $50.00 gift card and 3rd place a $25.00 gift card. Every student who enters will receive a certificate of participation. All winners, along with their families and teachers will be invited to an Awards Ceremony on Friday, May 28, 2010, held at Deer Island.

Who is Eligible to Enter
The contest is open to any student who attends a school located in the MWRA Service Area.
